Broadening Audience Reach
With the addition of stream target options—most notably Facebook Live—Wowza Streaming Engine version 4.5 enhances and simplifies your customers' ability to deliver streams and services that reach the broadest audience possible.
To stream easily to Facebook Live, users simply select Facebook Live as a stream target to stream professional-quality video to one of the largest social media platforms, with more than 1 billion regular users globally. We’ve also added stream targets for SHOUTcast/Icecast, and WebM in this release.
With this release, customers can target generic data stores, including disk and cloud storage accounts, giving them greater control over content storage, management, manipulation, and processing to optimize workflows and costs. Users can also seamlessly integrate version 4.5 into workflows utilizing the SCTE-35 standard ad-insertion protocol through transcoded stream delivery.
Source Flexibility: Wowza Streaming Engine 4.5 adds support for Google Cloud storage buckets as a source for media files, and adds Panasonic PTZ cameras to its growing lineup of integrated encoders and cameras for capturing streams.
Management Flexibility: Version 4.5 includes support for Simple Network Management Protocol version 2c (SNMPv2c), enabling your customers to integrate Wowza™ software with their SNMP management systems for monitoring and management.
