Packaging — What you need to know!
We are constantly working on making the installation and upgrade of our products easier and more seamless. Our packaging team, led by Brad Hawkins on the Linux/Mac side and Eric Stegemoller on the Windows side, has been working with the latest and greatest packaging applications like Install Shield. Expect to see new installers in all IDM products this year and much more seamless update processing.
Licensing — What you don't need to know!
Not only should the installation process be easy and seamless, so should be the registration and upgrade process. We are very happy to announce that our licensing team, led by Johnny Pickle, has deployed an all-new registration/license management technology that will enable users to permit IDM products to automatically check for updates. With your permission, the new license client will detect if an upgrade upgrade is available, determine if the upgrade is free, and deliver the new version without you having to know his/her current registration code!
Easy to install, easy to upgrade, and easy to maintain currency. Volume, site, plant and corporate customers will enjoy license-on-demand privileges through our secure customer license portal as well.

Split Explorer View
This exciting new feature will allow you to optionally split the file tree view in the Explorer tab of the File View pane. This feature will include column headers and sort options as well. |

File Tab Icons
A great new usability feature, v17's new file tab icons will allow you to see quickly if a file is modified and saved, modified and unsaved, new, or remote (FTP/SFTP). |
