WELCOME TO INTERSOFT SOLUTIONS NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2010 EDITION

INTERSOFT PARTNERS WITH IDEABLADE, NEXT PRODUCT ROADMAP, AND MORE.
Jemmy Haryono, Vice President of Marketing

Since the official release of Intersoft ClientUI several months ago, we have been frequently asked about the best practice to build real-world, data-persisted applications that can target both Silverlight and WPF platform. We are excited to announce our exclusive partnership with IdeaBlade, the maker of DevForce, to bring you a metal-bare solution for cross-platform application development.
With ClientUI and DevForce, you can now build great-looking, data-connected applications that target both Silverlight and WPF with same codebase – something not possible to be done with other solutions! This month, we have made available the first series of our joint solutions that demonstrates the DevForce integration in our popular Contacts sample that built with commanding and MVVM design pattern. Check out the joint sample along with a fifty-five pages walkthrough here.
Get ready with the next volume release of WebUI Studio 2010, coming to you in just few weeks. Still focusing on rich Silverlight and WPF lineup, you can expect to see the new UXGridView, a powerful MVVM-ready data grid control optimized for large data display. Geared toward business application scenarios, the new grid view features column and group total aggregate, dynamic row height, cell text wrapping, and many other fundamental features lacking in Silverlight data grid. The next release will also deliver a multitude of interactive input controls, ranging from masked text box, date picker, calendar, to multi-range slider and an innovative file uploader. Find out more here.
New hotfixes were deployed last week with over hundreds of bug fixes and enhancements across all product lineups. One of the most significant enhancements in WebGrid is the ability to easily obtain the parent key value when the batch update is used in hierarchical mode. The hotfixes also addressed a number of glitches with ASP.NET AJAX Update Panel. See the complete version history in our Support Center. Updating is easy with only few mouse clicks, click here to learn more.

INTERSOFT AND IDEABLADE ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP.

Sharing the same vision, the collaboration between Intersoft and IdeaBlade combines both companies' cutting-edge technology to provide the best solution for multi platforms development with single codebase.
DevForce is a powerful and easy-to-use data persistence solution thoughtfully designed to address the limitation of data access layer in Silverlight and WCF RIA Services. It does many things, like client-side LINQ queries, caching management, powerful entity validation, and much more.
Thanks to ClientUI and DevForce native support on MVVM development pattern, using both in a single project is straightforward. DevForce's data operations are executed from within the ViewModel, while the interaction to the View is elegantly done through ClientUI advanced binding support.
Several editions of product bundles for ClientUI and DevForce will be made available to meet your development needs, stay tuned for the official announcement in early December. For immediate information, please contact our sales team today at sales@intersoftpt.com.

EXTENDING CLIENTUI CONTACTS SAMPLE WITH DEVFORCE.

As part of the collaboration, Jimmy Petrus of Intersoft and Ward Bell of IdeaBlade have published their blogs covering the integration of ClientUI and DevForce. The ClientUI's contacts sample is chosen for the joint solution as it was previously built around commanding and MVVM design pattern. The joint solution demonstrates the best practice and guidance to build scalable and testable applications for Silverlight and WPF with single codebase.

UPDATED 2010 R2 PRODUCT ROADMAP.

Following the successful release of WebUI Studio 2010, the next R2 volume release will add more Silverlight and WPF controls. Introducing UXGridView, a new and powerful grid targeting more "traditional" grid requirements than the current Presenter does.
The new UXGridView is reengineered from the ground-up to take advantage of the underlying power of Silverlight and WPF features which is built upon ClientUI Framework. It will employ cutting-edge design patterns, leveraging commanding, MVVM, and advanced data binding engine. An improved, high-performance data virtualization technology will be attached along.
The upcoming release will also include a wide array of input controls, masked text box, currency editor, date time editor, and more. These unique input controls will support MVVM and commanding with ISO-standard user experience and accessibility. Read Jimmy's blog post as he unveils the next R2 roadmap.
