This morning in New York City Xamarin was proud to be on stage with Microsoft at the Visual Studio 2013 launch event, demonstrating how Xamarin and Microsoft enable developers to write beautiful, native apps for iOS, Android and Windows in C#.

For years we have been working hard to bring C# to all the devices used by billions of people around the world. Today, we are excited to announce a historic partnership with Microsoft. This is a major endorsement of Xamarin by Microsoft and we are thrilled to be working together with the creators of C#.

As a first step in our collaboration we are announcing three big wins for C# developers:
 
Truly Portable Class Libraries – Portable Class Library (PCL) projects are now fully supported on both iOS and Android, making it easier than ever for C# developers to share code across devices. You can now keep common code in a single project, referenceable from any iOS, Android, Windows Phone or Windows Store project – all within a single solution. PCL project references even enable you to seamlessly step back-and-forth between PCL and platform-specific projects.
Support for Visual Studio 2013 – Xamarin and Microsoft are now working together to deliver the best possible mobile development experience in Visual Studio 2013, spanning iOS, Android and Windows. Today we released significant improvements to our Visual Studio extensions, as well as support for Visual Studio 2013. This is just the start, and we have a lot more in store, so stay tuned!
