We'd like to advise you of some important news regarding NVivo for Mac. Today we’re announcing that a free public beta of NVivo for Mac will be made available in March 2014, and a commercial release of NVivo for Mac will follow and be available in June 2014. Following feedback from a private beta testing program for NVivo for Mac conducted in August 2013, we have made the decision to invest more time in development of the product and will now be releasing a free public beta of NVivo for Mac in March 2014. NVivo for Mac free public beta Everyone will be able to download the NVivo for Mac public beta software and use it at no cost from March 2014 until June 2014. While using the public beta of NVivo for Mac, users will also have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions to help shape the future of the software. Importantly, they'll be able to transfer NVivo projects between NVivo for Windows and the NVivo for Mac public beta. NVivo for Mac commercial release A commercial release of NVivo for Mac will then be available in June 2014. Anyone holding a current, individual NVivo 10 license when NVivo for Mac is commercially released, will be able to access NVivo for Mac at no extra cost for the remaining term of the license. If they don’t have a current NVivo 10 license when NVivo for Mac is commercially released, they will be able to purchase the software separately. In addition, projects they’ve worked on using the public beta software will be fully compatible with the commercial release of NVivo for Mac so they will be able to continue to work with their projects. More information about NVivo for Mac NVivo for Mac is being designed and developed to look, feel and behave like a true Mac application. It will enable users to collect, organize and analyze content from interviews, focus groups, literature and observational studies. Users will be able to work with data in the form of documents, PDFs, audio and video. We are also taking this opportunity to make certain NVivo features simpler, easier to use and more efficient on a Mac. AcknowledgementWe would also like to acknowledge that these release dates for NVivo for Mac are later than previously advised. This has been a difficult decision for us and we are aware that there are many researchers waiting for NVivo for Mac. However, we are committed to delivering exceptional products, which in this instance requires investing more time in the development process.
